2021 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Welcome to the 2021 Athletics Carnival

The carnival will be happening on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 August. Tuesday is the finals for our long jump, throws and middle distance events.  Wednesday is for our junior tabloids, all sprint races and team games.

Tuesday 24 August Long Jump, Throws and Middle distance.

Long Jump and Throws Note: All kids have been measured in class and the top 16 of both girls and boys of each year level will compete in the FINAL on this day.

• Competitors will be released from class and ready on the oval as per timetable or PA announcement. Every class is welcome to watch the events throughout the morning
• Each class will have a competitor list in their room before events

Wednesday 25 August Sprints, team games and relays:

The program consists of a PP, year 1 and 2 sprints and tabloid carnival and year 3-6 team games and sprint races.

From 8:50am -10:50am will be a junior carnival for all PP, Year 1 and 2 students.  They will be competing in their sprints races, team games and tabloid games.  The rest of the school will join at 10.45am for the start of their day. To offer lots of room for our tabloid games, during our PP-Year2 races only our senior students will be out there cheering on the future stars of CPS.

8.45- 8.50	Assembly of Students Junior school assemble ready to go on to the oval PP, Year 1 & 2 march on to the oval
9-10.40	Age Races/Tabloids/Team Games Junior school races, team games and tabloid games At 10.45am presentation of Year 1 and 2 overall champions in front of the whole school.
10.35-10.40	Recess Break Year 3 – 6 students to assemble on the basketball courts to enter the oval. No bags on the oval.
10.50 – 11.30	Age Races/Team games Year 3 Sprints and Year 3- 6 tactic ball
11.30-12.10	Age Races/Team Games Year 4 sprints and Year 3 – 6 Tactic Leader ball
12.10-12.45	Age Races/Team Games ·         Year 5 sprints and Year 3 – 6 Passball
12.45 – 1.10	Lunch During the lunch break will be the Parents and Teachers Relay and Leader ball game.
1.10 – 1.50	Age Races/Team Games ·   Year 6 sprints and Year 3 – 6 Flag relay
1.50- 2.20	Year 3- 6 Baton relays
2.25 -3.00	Presentations Students to clean bays. Teachers to help pack all equipment in the sport shed. Senior overall champions and overall winning faction

On Friday 20 August all kids at CPS will receive a program of events, with all their events they are competing in highlighted.
