Churchlands Primary School has been selected by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) to participate in this year’s Item Trial. The purpose of the Item Trial is to evaluate potential NAPLAN test questions (‘items’) for use in future NAPLAN tests.
The Item Trial is being held in approximately 700 schools across Australia between Monday 18 July and Friday 26 August 2022. Schools are carefully selected to ensure that a range of student backgrounds and abilities is represented.
The Item Trial is about testing the questions, not about testing your child or their ability. Your child’s results are not reported.
This year, Rooms 17, 10 and 7 (Year 3 students only) will be participating in the trial. Students in these classes will sit two Item Trial tests, Reading and Conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation).
The Trial Test day is Wednesday, 20 July. (Term 3, Week 1)
The tests will be administered at the school by trained school personnel your child will use their personal iPad. It is important the device is charged, in good working order, and has the NAP App updated. Working headphones will also be required.
All selected students are expected to participate in the Item Trial unless they have been exempted or withdrawn from NAPLAN tests. If you have questions about your child’s participation, please contact the school.
