The winners of the CPS Term 3 Keen2STEAM Challenge had the opportunity to visit Scitech last week as part of their reward for winning our annual competition. Two teams of Year 5 and 6 students were put through their paces in several STEAM discipline challenges as part of the 2024 Scitech Challenge. The theme of this year’s challenge was Mission to Mars, and along the way, the teams were required to solve mathematics problems, design and prototype drop landers, uncover and identify space rocks, and complete a quiz after watching an amazing show in the planetarium! The CPS students were up to the task and performed brilliantly throughout the day. Although we didn’t win any prizes, among the other 22 teams, our representatives should be extremely proud of their collective efforts!
In Week 5, it will be the Year 3 and 4 winners who will be visiting Scitech for their very own challenge day. Even though there is no inter-school competition for this age group, I know the students are eagerly awaiting our visit, where they will have the opportunity to explore all Scitech has to offer while also participating in some relevant and engaging challenges. We look forward to hearing how it all goes in a couple of weeks’ time!
