I am sorry I haven’t added to the last newsletters as I have been on leave, but plenty of projects have been created and explored in my absence. The Arts programme continues without me as it should.
Year Two Room Five
Mrs Samsa’s students have looked at symmetry in nature and using a magical technique painted their own symmetrical butterflies. I can’t wait to see them in full colour fluttering around the classroom in magical butterfly beauty.
ECE One
It’s been raining a lot lately and the ECE are looking at living things.
With this motivation, we created giant cheerful flowers enjoying the rain.
The students used a paint stamper to explore the negative space to create raindrops. They drew radiating petals and coloured these with two tones of oil pastel with the
effect of blending. They are so cheerful on a wet, stormy day.
Year Six Room 13
The students in rooms 12 and 13 have been learning the skills and techniques of Lino Printing. After carving their Lino blocks, they are finally using bracers and block ink to print their images. It is very exciting to see the result.
Their finished artwork will be on display during the Learning Journey later this term.
Musical Props and Scenes
The Art Sparks have started using paper mache techniques to create props for the upcoming year six musical.
Book Week Story Telling
Miss Mac entertained a large engaged crowd in the Arty Studio space during Book Week celebrations earlier this term.
Many thanks,
