Interschool Athletics Carnival
At the end of term 3, a select amount of year 3-6 students competed in our annual Interschool Athletics Carnival at Kapinara Primary School. Everyone that participated should be extremely proud of their efforts on the day. Throughout the day, The Churchlands Way of Respect, Resilience, Engage and Excel was evident in the way, that all students and parents conducted themselves. A big thank-you to Mr Johnson for his help on the day, getting the kids organised for all their events and building a great team spirit inside the CPS marquee.
Before and After School Activities
During the school term, there will be activities happening most days of the week to keep your kids active before and after school. Over the next few weeks you will see flyers promoting various activities, if you are interested please contact those organisations directly.
Running Club
Running club is held on Wednesday mornings starting at 8am. It will be starting back up in week 2 on Wednesday 18 October, and will run until week 9 (Wednesday 7 December). For new families to Churchlands PS, running club is where students run laps around the school earning points for their faction. Exercising in the mornings has many health benefits and is a great way to start the day.
Some benefits include:
- improved physical and mental energy,
- a better night’s sleep,
- help maintain a healthy weight
- reach your fitness goals,
- enhance your metabolism.
This a reminder that mugs for Milo need to be placed on the table outside the undercover area before 8.15am. Milo is a reward for the effort put in during running club.
It is encouraged that students need to run at least 5 laps to get a Milo. Turning up late won’t allow enough time to do 5 laps.
Can you please click on the link and fill in the attached form, so Mr Marshall can organise your QR code card before your first running club. Kids of all ages are welcome to join in the fun, that is running club. Remember to bring your QR code to every running club.
Interschool Tennis
This year, CPS has been invited to attend an interschool tennis competition, hosted by Tennis WA, at the Wembley Downs Tennis Club. This event will be for year 3 & 4 students and will be held on Wednesday 9 November (week 5). This event runs for the whole day and is only for those students who are selected. Selection criteria are based on students’ positive behaviour within and outside the classroom, and students will be selected with the assistance of the administration team, and the year 3 and 4 classroom teachers. More information about this event will be out in week 3.
