How were your holidays? What did you do during the break? What adventures did you have? Where did you travel to? Who did you visit? What did you eat? How did you feel?
When we share information about something that has already happened, we communicate using the past tense. Many verbs need the suffix -ed added on the end to change them into the past tense, but some verbs have an irregular past tense form. For example, we don’t say “go-ed”, we say went. Remember to check writing carefully to see that the tense is consistent.
The holidays were a wonderful break with my family. We drove to Margaret River and stayed with friends. One morning, we hiked to Quinninup Falls. It took about an hour to reach the beautiful waterfall. Lizards and frogs hid in the bushes nearby. We felt hot after our hike so we splashed in the river that joined the sea. Looking out to the ocean, my son spotted a whale! Then my daughter noticed another one. It was so exciting to see.
