Running Club

For new families to Churchlands PS, running club is where students run laps around the oval earning points for their faction. Exercising in the mornings has many health benefits and is a great way to start the day.

Some benefits include:

  • improved physical and mental energy,
  • a better night’s sleep,
  • reach your fitness goals,
  • enhance your metabolism.

This is a reminder that mugs for Milo must be placed on the table outside the undercover area before 8.25 am.  Milo is an acknowledgement of the effort put in during running club.

It is encouraged that students need to run at least 5 laps to get a Milo. Turning up late won’t allow enough time to get 5 laps done.

Can you please click on the link and fill in the attached form, so Mr Marshall can organise your QR code card before your first running club. Kids of all ages are welcome to join in the fun, that is running club.  Remember to bring your QR code to every running club.

Education Minister’s Running Challenge

Your challenge

Primary school students

Can you run, walk, or wheel for 20 minutes in a week? How about for 4 minutes every day after school?

That’s all it takes to participate in the 2024 Education Minister’s Running Challenge.

Win prizes for running.

We challenge you to run consistently over the 9 weeks of the challenge. We know you can do it!

Not only will you receive a signed certificate from the Education Minister, but you will create healthy habits beyond the challenge period, regardless of your running ability.

But that’s not all.

Each week, students who log their runs, walks or wheels, go in the draw for a chance to win a prize.

Some of the weekly prizes include:

  • Apple Airtags
  • Bluetooth speakers
  • Fitbits
  • mini golf vouchers.

There’s a lot up for grabs!
