Robocup Jr WA State Finals 2024
It’s 2 weeks out from this year’s Robocup Jr WA State Finals competition and we have four teams feverishly preparing for their events. This year’s crop of year fives and sixes have shown amazing independence and initiative and we can’t wait to get there and compete!
We have 4 teams competiing in a variety of events this year which makes for some exicting viewing. Two of our teams will be going head-to-head in the ‘Mighty Maisy Maze’ event which requires them to design and build a lego EV3 or Spike robot and code it to autonomously navigate a walled maze. We have another team competing in the Line-Maze event which requires their robot to autonomously follow a lined maze, navigating obstacles in the search for a victim to rescue! Finally, for the first time ever, we have a team entering the Robot Soccer division. It has been a learning curve for all (teacher included) but Benji W has applied himself brilliantly and we can’t wait until that first whistle blows.
