Dear parents and caregivers,
I hope you are enjoying term four as the end of the year quickly approaches.
In week 4, I updated my training certificate in E-safety, mandated for my role. There are also valuable resources for families through this government initiative. If you want to know more about a specific platform, The E-Safety Guide is a great source of information. It covers a wide range of games and platforms; details of their safety policies and steps for users to block or report negative online behaviour. As well, reporting to E-Safety can help remove serious online abuse (after the platform has been alerted but hasn’t acted), or as a first step if illegal and restricted online content is involved. For further information there is a dedicated section for parents with links to free online webinars. These webinars cover the latest strategies for keeping children safe online in the ever evolving digital world.
