Once again our generous school community has come together to support the Salvation Army Winter Appeal. The generosity of our school families will make a difference to many people who are experiencing homelessness.
The year 5 and 6 students were visited by Peter Vernon from the Salvation Army last Wednesday. He shared lots of information about homelessness in Australia. The students completed a quiz about the statistics of homelessness and learnt that there are over 100 000 homeless people in Australia, many of them are children. Peter spoke about the fact that people are homeless for lots of different reasons and what can be done to help people experiencing homelessness, including making donations as our school community has done.
