What is on in the Art Studio – Term 3 Week 7

2024 Little Impressions Collage Exhibition                                                                   Theme: ART FROM THE HEART

The year five students from room 10 and 11 are taking part in the Little Impressions Exhibition at the 2024 AWESOME Festival in Perth during the holidays.

The year five artists were asked to listen to their hearts; to embrace empathy, connect with the world around them, and share kindness.

They were asked to consider and address these questions…

What fills your heart with joy? What connects you to your community? How do you share with and learn from your peers? And why is having “heart” so important?

Channelling their creative energy, they designed their own collage to add to the exhibition of combined schools’ work.

I am excited to announce that these young artist’s artworks will be displayed in the State Theatre Centre of WA foyer for the duration of the AWESOME Festival public season from Tuesday 24 – Saturday 28 September, 10am – 3pm daily.

The Churchlands Primary School community, students, family, and friends are invited to see this digital exhibition of artworks on display and enjoy the festival atmosphere!

Mural Development

Liv, with the help from our students, has started adding the year six fantastical characters to the mural. With delight the young artists recognised their images. Unfortunately, she is adding to the works between rainstorms plus work and university commitments.

Please have a look at her progress during the Learning Journey next week on Tuesday 3 September, and do not forget to pop into the art studio as well.

Art Winners and Grinners

In week six we did not draw the raffle due to the Yirra Yaakin performance. It was a huge raffle draw week seven. Congratulations winners.

Looking forward to welcoming you all to the art room on the evening of the Learning Journey,

Kind regards,
